Criminal justice is one of the fastest growing interdisciplinary programs in higher education. There is a need for advanced criminal justice professionals to enhance public safety, human services, community development and urban crime policy both at home and abroad. 

The Master’s (MS) degree program in Criminal Justice based at the King Graduate School seeks to enhance knowledge of the field, critical thinking skills and a mastery of oral and writing competencies. The program provides a broad global perspective on terrorism and other forms of transnational crimes, important to criminal justice professionals who aspire to leadership positions at federal, state and city agencies.

The MS Degree program requires 37 credits which can be completed in as few as four semesters. Students complete eight core courses which may be enriched by specializing in HumanServices, UrbanCrime Policy and a concentration in Homeland Security. Graduates will develop competences in research methods, causes of crime, analyses of police, courts and the correctional system and crime reduction strategies.

Our General Business program enables you to transfer in the credits you worked hard to accrue over the years and prepares you for the complex workings of businesses. With Prior Learning Credit options, we’ll show you how to turn life experience into a head start toward your degree by translating it into credits. We use an evaluation called a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to carefully look at everything on your resume. Prior learning sources include work experience, volunteer work, training programs, military service, community activities and independent study.

Monroe College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Monroe College also has programmatic accreditations by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), American Culinary Federation (ACF), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and credentialed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
