Make a difference with a career that helps others

Every day, human services professionals make a difference in other people’s lives. With specific expertise in major crisis and chronic situations, these professionals use their empathy – and their skills – to serve others. There are opportunities to work in a wide variety of organizations, from community centers and substance abuse treatment facilities to domestic abuse centers.

Experienced professionals with years of experience in the field will teach your classes, giving you the knowledge and skills you need to make a difference in the world. You’ll also have the chance to gain real-world experience through two valuable, supervised placements in the field.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me at any time!

Together, We Make It Happen!

FORMULA FOR SUCCESS

Generations of Monroe students have walked in with a dream and left with a future. We’ve helped high school graduates grow into confident professionals and helped professionals step it up a level. Monroe knows how. We work around your commitments giving you the ability to study online, on campus or both and a three semester calendar to graduate faster. We help you find or advance your career path. And we do this all while providing you 360° support.

AFFORDABILITY

Consistently ranked as one of the top three most affordable private college in NY State. We work hard to make sure students from all backgrounds have access to a quality education. At Monroe, we’ve worked with thousands of students to come up with financial aid plans that are personalized and realistic. Once you’re accepted to a program, we’ll pair you with one of our financial aid counselors, who will discuss your situation with you and walk you through your options.

TRANSFER CREDITS

You have earned the credits and now it is time to earn the degree. Transfer in up to 90 college credits, including credit for work experience, military training and CLEP, and turn your hard-earned credits into a bachelor’s degree at Monroe College. Our General Business program enables you to transfer in the credits you worked hard to accrue over the years and prepares you for the complex workings of businesses. Let Monroe help finish what you started.

PRIOR LEARNING CREDIT

Monroe knows that learning doesn’t only take place in the classroom. With Prior Learning Credit options, we’ll show you how to turn life experience into a head start toward your degree by translating it into credits. We use an evaluation called a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to carefully look at everything on your resume. Prior learning sources include work experience, volunteer work, training programs, military service, community activities and independent study.

ACCREDITATION

Monroe College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Monroe College also has programmatic accreditations by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), American Culinary Federation (ACF), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and credentialed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
