Earn your CASAC at Monroe

The CASAC Addiction Counseling Program is a 30 credit certificate program. This counseling program prepares students to gain knowledge about substance abuse, addiction, and treatment.  It is specifically designed for students who are interested in the field of substance abuse. The program can be take as a Bachelor level minor for the majors of Human Services and Criminal Justice or as a certificate program for non-matriculated students looking to obtain certification. 

Details for the program:

  • Tuition: $4,800 or $480 per course 
    Academic Resource Fee: 
    $150 Full time / $75 part-time
  • Schedule - Courses are offered on-site and virtually. However, due to the current environment, many courses are now being offered fully virtually. 
  • Prerequisites or Degree Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
  • Opportunities: Our Certificate program prepares students to work with people who have addictions to alcohol and other drugs. Counselors work in the fields of substance abuse treatment (detoxification, rehabilitation, and long-term residential modalities), medical health, mental health, school prevention, correctional services, homeless shelters, and in private practice.
